Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of SG Statutes MCP at https://mcp.joshng.dev, including the MCP endpoint. By creating an account or sending the service a request, with or without an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Not an authoritative source

The legislation on this service is sourced from Singapore Statutes Online (sso.agc.gov.sg), operated by the Attorney-General’s Chambers. We do not warrant or represent that this service serves that legislation accurately, completely or currently. The corpus is a point-in-time snapshot; each instrument’s snapshot date and Singapore Statutes Online link are returned with the results.

You are responsible for your use of this service and must verify anything it returns against Singapore Statutes Online before relying on it. This service is not associated or affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Attorney-General’s Chambers or Singapore Statutes Online.

2. AI clients

You will usually access this service through an AI client. AI clients paraphrase, summarise and quote selectively, so the output you read may differ from the text this service returned, which may in turn differ from the legislation in force. You are responsible for checking the AI client’s output against the text returned by this service, and that text against Singapore Statutes Online. We do not control or review any AI client.

3. Confidential information

Do not include client names, matter details, privileged facts, personal data or other confidential information in a query, a token name or an email to us. We store only a SHA-256 hash of tool arguments and never the text of your queries (see the Privacy Policy). Your query is, however, composed and transmitted by your own MCP client through your own AI provider, and we are not a party to those arrangements. Any duty of confidence, privilege or data protection you owe must be discharged before the query is sent.

4. Accounts and tokens

An account is not required to use the MCP endpoint. It may be used without one, subject to a lower rate limit applied per IP address. Use without an account is provided at our discretion: we may restrict, limit or withdraw it at any time, for anyone or for everyone, without notice or reasons. Everything in these terms applies to it in full — in particular section 6.

Signing up raises the rate limit. It requires a working email address, which you verify with a code we send to it. One account per person. We may refuse, suspend, restrict or close any account at any time, without notice or reasons.

Access tokens are your credentials: anyone holding one can use the service as you, and everything done with your tokens is your responsibility. Keep them secret; do not share, publish or transfer them, and do not leave one where others can read it. A token is shown once at creation and stored only as a hash. If a token may have been exposed, revoke it in the dashboard and create another.

5. Availability

This is a free personal project run on a single small server. We may rate-limit, restrict or block any account, IP address or traffic pattern, may withdraw use without an account, and may change, suspend or discontinue the service, at any time and without notice or reasons. No commitment is given as to uptime, support, corpus updates, backups or the correction of defects. Do not build anything that depends on continued access.

6. Acceptable use

The service is provided for looking up and searching Singapore statutory provisions for legal research. This section applies identically whether or not you use an account. You must not:

  • scrape, mirror, bulk-download or systematically extract the corpus, redistribute it, or use it to build a competing or derivative dataset;
  • circumvent the rate limits, a block or a ban, including by creating multiple accounts, rotating IP addresses or distributing requests across machines, or run sustained high-volume automated traffic; or
  • probe, scan, overload, disrupt or attempt unauthorised access to the service, its infrastructure or other users’ data, or use the service unlawfully or in a way that infringes anyone’s rights.

Usage is monitored as described in the Privacy Policy, and breach of this section is grounds for immediate revocation of your tokens and a ban. Where you have no account, the same breach is grounds for blocking the IP address you use and for withdrawing access without an account generally. If you publish work substantially derived from the service, please credit SG Statutes MCP and cite Singapore Statutes Online as the source of the law.

7. Intellectual property

The Singapore legislation served here is subject to the copyright of the Singapore Government and is used and reproduced for the purposes of this service with the permission of the Attorney-General’s Chambers, under clause 13 of the Singapore Statutes Online Terms of Use. You may check Singapore Statutes Online (sso.agc.gov.sg) for the latest version of any Singapore legislation.

The corpus also contains the Singapore International Commercial Court Procedural Guide, which is not legislation; rights in it belong to its publisher. The software and the site belong to the operator. You have a personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for your own legal research, subject to section 6. We claim no rights in your queries.

8. Liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and representations, express or implied, and accept no liability for any loss arising from your use of, reliance on, or inability to use the service or anything it returns, including any output of an AI client, nor for any indirect, special or consequential loss. These limits are a condition of the service being provided free of charge.

9. General

The Privacy Policy at https://mcp.joshng.dev/privacy forms part of these terms. These terms may be amended at any time; the version published at https://mcp.joshng.dev/terms when you use the service applies. You may stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time. Sections 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 survive termination. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. These terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the service, including non-contractual claims, are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
